Speaking during the installation ceremony, the Towulade of Owu Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, described the newly installed chief as a shining example for young people, stressing that the honour recognises dedication, education and focus.
According to the monarch, the recognition is meant to inspire the younger generation to pursue purpose and excellence. “Gbenga is a young man who is educated and focused. We are confident that the future is bright for him. He stands as a lesson to younger ones that they must stay focused and be direct about what they want to become in life,” the royal father said.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Gbenga Oso expressed gratitude to the throne and the people of the community for the honour bestowed on him, promising to use the title to attract growth and development to the town.
He said the position demands wisdom and selfless service. “This chieftaincy is a position that must be used wisely. I will use whatever influence and grace God has given me for the upliftment of this community. I assure Kabiyesi that I will bring many important personalities into this town so we can work together for progress,” he stated.
Also speaking, Yeye Bobagunwa, Chief Modupe Oso, pledged her commitment to initiatives that will improve the welfare of residents, particularly in key sectors affecting families and children.
She emphasised that the new title comes with a strong sense of responsibility. “My husband and I promise to support the development of this community in education, healthcare and moral growth. With God’s help, we will do everything possible to justify the honour given to us,” she said.
Residents and dignitaries who attended the ceremony described the installation as a celebration of service, unity and renewed commitment to the development of Owu Akinale.
The event ended with prayers for peace, prosperity and continued progress in the community.
