Dr. Soyoola also rejoiced with sons and daughters of Egbaland at home and in the diaspora for keeping alive the rich cultural heritage of the Egba people.
The senatorial hopeful described the Lisabi Festival as a symbol of unity, bravery and resilience, noting that the celebration continues to inspire pride among the Egba nation and the entire Ogun State.
According to him, the festival is not only a remembrance of the heroic exploits of Lisabi but also a reminder of the values of courage, unity and community development which remain relevant today.
Dr. Soyoola praised the monarch’s leadership and commitment to preserving Egba traditions and fostering peace across Egbaland, adding that the royal father has continued to play a significant role in promoting harmony and progress.
He emphasised that the annual festival serves as an avenue to strengthen cultural identity while encouraging younger generations to appreciate their roots and history.
“Lisabi Festival is a celebration of our shared history and a reaffirmation of the unity that binds the Egba people together across communities and generations,” he said.
The aspirant further noted that the Egba nation has continued to distinguish itself in education, commerce, governance and cultural preservation, describing the people as a pillar of development in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
Dr. Soyoola prayed for long life, good health and continued wisdom for the Alake, while wishing the Egba people a peaceful and successful celebration.
He urged the citizens to uphold the spirit of unity and cooperation symbolised by the festival, stressing that collective efforts remain vital for sustainable development and prosperity in Ogun Central and beyond.
