Eid el-Fitri: Ogun Lawmaker Tella Urges Unity, Understanding Among Nigerians

A lawmaker representing Abeokuta North state constituency at the Ogun State house of assembly Hon. Babatunde Tella, has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of the state, to embrace understanding and unity as they celebrate the Eid el-Fitri festival.

Tella made the appeal on Thursday in a goodwill message to mark the end of the Ramadan fast, urging Muslims and people of other faiths to reflect on the values of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect that the holy month represents.

He noted that Eid el-Fitri is not only a time for celebration but also a period for sober reflection on the lessons of sacrifice, discipline, and compassion learned during Ramadan.

According to him, “Eid el-Fitri should remind us all of the importance of peaceful coexistence and the need to support one another, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.”

The lawmaker stressed that unity remains a critical factor in the growth and development of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole, calling on citizens to shun divisive tendencies.

“We must continue to promote harmony in our communities and work together for the progress of our dear state and country. Our strength lies in our unity,” Tella said.

He also wished Muslims a joyous celebration, urging them to sustain the spirit of generosity and kindness beyond the festive period, while praying for continued peace, stability, and prosperity in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
