Dr. Olusanjo-Peters, Olugbemiga-Adegoke Stout Odeku, a senatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared his intention to represent Ogun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
The aspirant made the declaration on Tuesday during a meeting with Apex leaders of Abeokuta North Local Government Area held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he confidently described himself as the next senator from the district.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Olusanjo-Peters said his aspiration was driven by a clear vision to contribute meaningfully to lawmaking and constituency development if elected into the Senate.
According to him, his legislative focus would centre on sponsoring and supporting bills that directly impact the welfare of the people, particularly through effective appropriation and lawmaking processes at the National Assembly.
He disclosed that one of his proposed bills would address elderly welfare, including the establishment of recreational facilities for senior citizens across the constituency.
Dr. Olusanjo-Peters added that such projects would be executed through constituency funds made available to him, stressing his commitment to transparent and people-oriented use of public resources.
The aspirant further stated that his ambition was divinely inspired, noting that he believes God has called him to run for the position and has assured him of victory with the support of party leaders and stakeholders.
“Part of my bill are elderly welfare recreational facilities , this will be done with the constituency fund that will be released to me.
“God asked me to run for this position and I will get the ticket, anybody can run against me with the help of God and you Apex leaders, I’ll get the ticket “he said.
He therefore appealed to the Apex leaders of Abeokuta North Local Government to rally behind his ambition and support his quest for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, the Ogun State APC Organising Secretary, Hon. Yemi Adelani, urged the Apex leaders to support Dr. Olusanjo-Peters, describing unity and cooperation as essential for the party’s success in future elections.
Also speaking, the APC Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, described the aspirant as a son of the soil and a good man, calling on party members and stakeholders to give him their full support.
