The Deputy Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly and lawmaker representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, Hon. Babatunde Tella, has urged residents of the state to embrace unity, peace and collective responsibility as they step into the year 2026.
Hon. Tella gave the charge in his New Year message to constituents on Thursday , describing the New Year as an opportunity for renewed hope, reflection and recommitment to the ideals that promote harmonious coexistence and sustainable development across Ogun State.
According to the lawmaker, the progress recorded in Abeokuta North and the state at large can only be sustained through cooperation among citizens, community leaders and government at all levels, stressing that unity remains the strongest tool for overcoming social and economic challenges.
He called on residents to shun acts capable of disrupting peace, urging youths in particular to channel their energy towards productive ventures, skills acquisition and community development initiatives that would contribute to overall growth.
Hon. Tella commended Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration for its commitment to infrastructural development, improved governance and people-oriented policies, noting that such efforts require the support and understanding of the populace to achieve maximum impact.
The Deputy Chief Whip reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, quality legislation and responsive constituency service, assuring the people of Abeokuta North of his readiness to continue advocating policies that will improve their welfare.
He wished residents of Abeokuta North, Ogun State and Nigerians at large a peaceful, prosperous and fulfilling New Year, urging everyone to remain hopeful and steadfast in building a better society in 2026.
