The empowerment programme took place on Friday, December 12, 2025, and underscored the monarch’s continued commitment to the welfare of his people.
A major highlight of the event was the official laying of the foundation for the proposed Oja Oba Adesina Faluade International Market, a landmark project designed to reposition commercial activities in the area and stimulate economic growth within and beyond the community.
The event was chaired by the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, who commended Oba Faluade for his consistent support for grassroots development and the economic empowerment of market women.
He described the monarch’s humanitarian gestures as exemplary and impactful.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Kusimo reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to sustainable community development, assuring residents of Ibogun Balogun that more infrastructural projects would be executed to improve living and business conditions in the area.
Addressing the market women, the council chairman emphasized the importance of cooperation with the local government task force, noting that revenues generated from market activities would be channeled back into upgrading market facilities and enhancing the general wellbeing of the community.
Oba Faluade, in his remarks, reiterated his vision for a modern market that would provide a conducive trading environment, create employment opportunities, and attract investors, thereby boosting the local economy.
