The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, Chief Route Commander Florence Ngozi Okpe.
In a condolence message signed by the Council Secretary, Bunmi Adigun, the NUJ described Okpe’s passing as a painful loss to both the FRSC and the media community in Ogun State.
According to the official notification from the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwumi O. Fasakin, the Command received the sad news of Okpe’s death on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. She reportedly passed away in her hometown while on annual leave after a brief illness.
Until her demise, Chief Route Commander Okpe served diligently as the Public Education Officer of the Ogun Sector Command, where she was widely admired for her professionalism, hard work, and commitment to public enlightenment and road safety advocacy.
The NUJ, in its condolence message, noted that Okpe maintained a cordial working relationship with journalists covering the FRSC in the state, and her contributions to public safety awareness would be deeply missed.
While commiserating with the Sector Commander, officers, and men of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, the NUJ prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for divine comfort for her family, colleagues, and friends during this difficult time.
