The Lawmaker representing Abeokuta North State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Tella, has rolled out his scorecard as he commemorates two years of impactful service and people-centered representation.
Since his assumption of office on June 20, 2023, Tella, who doubles as the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, has provided quality, responsive, and robust representation for his constituents, translating promises into tangible results across legislation, infrastructure, empowerment, and community development.

In just two years, Hon. Tella has distinguished himself as one of the most active legislators in the Ogun State House of Assembly, sponsoring and co-sponsoring several bills and motions that have far-reaching impacts on governance, economic growth, and social welfare.

Hon. Tella has touched lives at the grassroots through deliberate infrastructural interventions.
Solar Lights Provided:
Across villages such as Kurere, Kara Rounda, Ponkuku, Koosa 1 & 2 village ,Isaga-Orile Market, Sangote village , Kogo village , Afibukun CDA (Soyooye), Streamside Estate (Ita Oshin), Olosun Phase 2 village , Elega Market, Adio Ajegunle (through collaboration with Ministry of Rural Development).
Through collaboration with Hon. Olumide Osoba, solar lights were also facilitated for Olosun, Odo-Eran, Ikija, Ibara-Orile, and Tibo-Falekan.

Human Capital Development & Empowerment
Hon. Tella has empowered over 350 constituents with items including grinding machines, sewing machines, knapsack sprayers, coolers, fertilizers, herbicides, mathematics dictionaries, exercise books, and cash support.
He has also facilitated employment opportunities in the Ogun State Civil Service, TRACE, and Amotekun Corps for several indigenes of the Local Government.
Financial assistance was also extended to groups such as CDC Metrol, CDC Youth, CDC Harmony Gardens, Thunder Rock Church,Iwalewa Group and CDC Ilupeju Oke-Odo just to mention a few.
At his one-year anniversary, Tella distributed empowerment items in the presence of dignitaries such as Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Hon. Olumide Osoba of the House of Representatives, Commissioner for Forestry- Hon Taiwo Oludotun, Chief Adekunle Adeshina, Hon Olufemi Adiro, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi, the APC PARTY CHAIRMAN and a host of others
Beneficiaries described him as a promise keeper who has consistently prioritized their welfare.
Constituency Projects
Perhaps Tella’s most celebrated intervention has been in the area of provision of water. Recognizing the collapse of many pipelines during previous administrations, he embarked on the construction of 16 boreholes across the wards of Abeokuta North, each fitted with generators, stanchions, and fetching points.
Beneficiary communities include: Idi-Ori, Ishaga, Oriyanrin, Ilawo Titun, Iberekodo, Oyan Dam via Imala, Ikija, Kurere, Olosun, Housing Estates in Oke-Ata and Elega, Oja-Agbo (Gbagura), Ilewo-Orile, Araromi-Gaa, Fagbenro via Ilewo, and Ijale-Papa.
At the commissioning of one of the projects, Speaker Oludaisi Elemide described Tella as “Baba Oniwe” for his numerous bills and motions, while lauding him for “giving life by providing water where there was none.”
Endorsements & Commendations
At different events, party leaders, community heads, and beneficiaries have praised Tella’s leadership style. The APC Chairman in Abeokuta North, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, said “water has no enemy” while commending him for addressing residents’ most pressing need.
Similarly, the Leader of the House in Abeokuta North LG, Hon. Moruf Erubami, urged communities to safeguard the projects.
A Promise to Do More
Reflecting on his journey so far, Hon. Tella noted:
“Even though I’m currently constructing 16 boreholes, five more communities have already made requests. I don’t know how many we’ll complete before my tenure ends. This gesture is simply a demonstration of love and kindness toward the people who voted me into office. I remain committed to empowering my people and improving their lives.”
With two years gone and many achievements recorded, Hon. Dr. Babatunde Tella has undoubtedly set a high standard for effective representation in Ogun State, combining legislation with grassroots development and people-oriented empowerment.
