Durodola said this on Thursday during a rally organised by NIPOST as part of activities to mark ‘World Post Day’ celebration in Osogbo.
She said that the world was changing rapidly, adding that the postal service had continued to evolve to remain relevant.
“Beyond traditional mail delivery, we now play a crucial role in financial inclusion, e-commerce, logistics and digital services.
“In places where internet penetration is limited, our network provides access and support, ensuring that no one is left behind, ” she said..
She said that the postal service had become a bridge between the digital world and communities in Nigeria that still relied on physical access points.
Mr Kayode Tope, head of operations Osun office, while speaking on the theme: “Post For People; Local Service, Global Reach:The way forward, ” stressed the need for new innovations.
He said that innovations should be implemented for NIPOST to become a dynamic and versatile entity.
“To transform NIPOST into a dynamic and versatile entity , it must modernise through digitalization , strategies partnerships, and the modernisation of infrastructure to improve service delivery and boost economic development.
“Key initiatives include expanding financial services to rural areas; modernising logistics for e – commerce; and collaborating with other government agencies to support businesses and increase efficiency.
“We seek to promote financial inclusion; and create a competitive environment by revitalising (NIPOST) operations and leveraging its extensive network,” he said.
In their contributions, NIPOST staff members called for public awareness on the existence and services rendered by NIPOST as most Nigerians are ignorant of its continued existence.
