MAPOLY Pays Tribute to Former Rector, Oba Dr. Adebisi Adebayo As He Joins His Ancestors

The Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of its former Rector and traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Oba Dr. Adebisi Atanda Adebayo, the Olu of Orile Itori-Odo, who joined his ancestors at the age of 87.

In a condolence message issued to newsmen on Tuesday signed by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, ‘Yemi Ajibola, the institution described Oba Adebayo as a visionary administrator, accomplished scholar, and an icon of academic excellence whose contributions to the growth of the Polytechnic remain indelible.

“He joined the service of the Polytechnic as a Senior Principal (now Chief Lecturer) at Oke-Egunya, the initial site of Ogun State Polytechnic, where he was appointed Head, Department of Biology.

“His tenure as the Rector secured NBTE Accreditation for ND Accountancy, ND & HND Business Administration & Management, ND & HND Marketing, ND Secretarial Administration, ND & HND Architectural Technology, Town & Regional Planning, ND Food Technology, ND Science Laboratory Technology, and ND & HND Mass Communication.

“Similarly, his administration witnessed the red-bricks evolution in the physical development, which includes the Adebisi Adebayo Administrative Building.

“Dr. Adebayo was a well traveled Scientist and Author of numerous scientific publications in local and international books and journals, including seminar & conference papers.

“The Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso, on behalf of the Polytechnic community, prays for the fortitude to bear his absence, adding that, may God illuminate Oba Dr. Adebisi Adebayo's final abode and accept his return”.
