The highly anticipated continental fixture is scheduled to take place at the MKO Sports Arena, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Sunday, 28th September 2025, kicking off at 4:00 p.m.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka on Saturday.
The state government expressed its delight in hosting yet another high-profile international football match, describing it as one of the dividends of the recently concluded National Sports Festival, which showcased the MKO Sports Arena as a world-class sporting facility.
The Commissioner noted that the stadium has continued to attract major football events, having recently hosted the CAF Champions League home and away matches between Remo Stars and US Zilimadjou of Comoros.
“The CAF Confederation second leg match is part of the dividends of the recent National Sports Festival, showcasing the arena as a premier venue for high-profile matches.
“The state government is proud to boast that the MKO Sports Arena has recently hosted notable games, including the CAF Champions League home and away matches between Remo Stars and US Zilimadjou of Comoros.
“It is significant to note that the last time CAF Champions League matches were played in Ogun State was in early 2001 when Julius Berger football Club made the then MKO Abiola Stadium its home venue.
“We urge everyone in and around Abeokuta, the state capital, and Ogun State in general, to come out in large numbers to enjoy exciting football between Kwara United and Asante Kotoko of Ghana”.
