Chief Mustapha made the declaration during the commissioning of a borehole project facilitated by Hon. Tella in Ward 6, Gbagura, Abeokuta North Local Government on Thursday.
According to him, the lawmaker has set a new standard in legislative representation and constituency service delivery.
“Tella is a quality legislator and I’m very happy with what he is doing. I say it unequivocally that I will back him for a second term in the House of Assembly,” he stated.
Speaking on the borehole project, he lauded the lawmaker for not only providing the community with access to potable water but also backing it up with a generator to ensure uninterrupted supply.
“Water is life, you can’t cook without water. For somebody to provide us with a borehole,not a fake one but a genuine one, I even drank the water myself. And to further support it with a generator means a lot. I thank him immensely on behalf of this ward and our community,” he added.
Chief Mustapha further disclosed that youths in the community have been put in charge of managing the project to ensure sustainability and proper maintenance.
On his part, Hon. Tella appreciated the support of Chief Bode Mustapha, the Special Assistant to the Senate President, Hon. Yomade Biobaku, the Secretary to the Abeokuta North Local Government, Mutiat Omowunmi Agbaje and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon. Akeem Oluseye, for their support .
While speaking on his legislative accomplishments, the lawmaker noted that no member of the Assembly has sponsored more bills than him, with three more currently awaiting passage.
One of them, he explained, is the Scavenger and Waste Dealers Bill, which aims to curb the menace of scavengers who vandalize government and private properties.
“The bill also empowers community members to apprehend suspected vandals and hand them over to law enforcement for prosecution,” Tella disclosed.
Beyond lawmaking, the legislator has continued to impact his constituency through projects. He has facilitated borehole installations across various wards in Abeokuta North, including Oriyanrin (Ward 11), Ikija (Ward 2), Gaa/Afonta/Lafenwa (Ward 8), Obasa (Ward 9), Elega Housing Estate (Ward 4), Iberekodo (Ward 5), Idi-Ori (Ward 16), Olosun (Ward 12), Federal Housing Oke-Ata (Ward 16), and Isaga Orile (Ward 15).
