Obasanjo, Amosun, Olowu, Babajide Ogunshina Others Grace Coronation of Towulade of Owu-Akinale

It was a gathering of eminent personalities on Saturday as the coronation of Oba Oluseyi Adediran as the Towulade of Owu-Akinale, Ewekoro Local Government, Ogun State, attracted dignitaries including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola and the CEO Classic Nigeria Limited Hon. Babajide Ogunshina .

The Olowu of Owu, Oba Matemilola, while speaking at the colourful ceremony, praised the new monarch for his contributions to the Owu community even before ascending the throne. 
He recalled how Oba Adediran facilitated developmental projects such as the town hall project which began in the 1970s.

“Today , we have seen foundation laying of the proposed police station in Akinale , we have also seen the effort he has made to continue the construction of the town hall which was started in the 70’s . 
“We have also seen the foundation laying of the health centre that he personally sponsored by him, so with this , it give us hope that his reign here will bring a lot of prosperity and a lot of development to Owu Akinale. We wish him well and we wish him the very best” he said.

In his Goodwill message, the Former Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun described Akinale as an important town in Owu Kingdom, urging the new Towulade to embrace unity and inclusiveness in his reign. 
He prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the monarch, expressing confidence that his tenure would herald development and peace for the people.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Adediran expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, his family, warrant chiefs, the Adediran dynasty, and all stakeholders who supported his emergence.

He particularly acknowledged Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State Executive Council for approving his selection, while also paying glowing tribute to the memories of his progenitors, High Chief Jeremiah Oparinade and Madam Beatrice Adediran. 

Oba Adediran commended the efforts of his wife, Olori Deaconess Oluwafolakemi Adediran, who is spearheading the Educational Trust Fund designed to ensure that children in Owu-Akinale have access to quality education. 

He described her as a woman of zeal, commitment, and strength, expressing confidence in her capacity to manage the initiative.
The monarch also acknowledged the Balogun of Owu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Oba Adediran gave special recognition to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, whom he described as the “Olori Omoba of Ogun State.” 

He praised the governor for his love, support, and fatherly role in the affairs of the community, pledging his loyalty to the state government.

He assured the people of Owu-Akinale that his reign would be marked by peace, prosperity, and progressive initiatives, urging residents and stakeholders to support the collective vision for the growth of the town.

“ I have so many plans because I have God as my backing, my father the Olowu of Owu laid foundation of two major projects, Police Station and health centre and he inspect our town Hall, and a water project for secondary school so we have a lot to do and my wife is spareheading the education trust fund. I know her zeal,commitment and strength that’s why I allowed her to do that.
“My appreciation goes to my father the Balogun of Owu, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Oba Matemilola, the Alake of Egba land , Sen Ibikunle Amosun and especially the Governor of Ogun state the one I give the title of Olori Omoba of Ogun state, Omooba Dapo Abiodun I appreciate him a lot , I appreciate him for his love , for his support and for his fatherly role every time”.

The new Olori of Owu-Akinale, Deaconess Oluwafolakemi Aratumi Adediran assured the people of the community of rapid transformation in education, healthcare, and social development under the reign of her husband, the Towulade of Owu-Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran.
Speaking shortly after the coronation ceremony of the monarch, the Olori of Owu Akinale noted that the royal family has already laid the foundation for key projects, including a police post and a health centre, to enhance security and healthcare delivery in the town. 

She described the initiatives as part of deliberate efforts to give Akinale a new face of development.

Deaconess Adediran disclosed that top priority would be given to education, especially for children and youth in the community.
In his goodwill message, the CEO of Classic Nigeria Limited Hon. Babajide Ogunshina described the new monarch as a selfless leader who has consistently invested in the progress of Akinale. 

He called on residents to rally around the Towulade, stressing that the king’s vision could only be achieved with the full cooperation and support of the people.

Notable dignitaries who graced the event included the legendary juju music maestro Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Aare Kazeem Bakinson, Aare Mayegun of Owu Kingdom, Kazeem Odeyeyiwa, CEO of Raptor Group Limited, Barrister Daniel Aramide, and Hon. Babajide Ogunshina, CEO of Classic Nigeria Limited, among others.
