ROMO Chairman Cautions Riders on Safety During Rainy Season

The Chairman of the Riders and Owners of Motorcycles Organisation (ROMO) in Ogun State, Alhaji Olusola Rasak Shotayo, popularly known as Sholebo, has issued a strong appeal to all commercial motorcycle riders across the state to prioritise their safety and exercise extreme caution during this rainy season.

Speaking from the State Secretariat in Abeokuta, Sholebo urged riders to avoid operating during downpours to prevent avoidable accidents and risks to their lives and those of their passengers.

“We understand the hustle and the need to meet daily targets, but no gain is worth the loss of life.

“The rainy season brings slippery roads, poor visibility, and increased danger. We advise all riders to suspend operations during heavy rainfall and always use safety gear," Sholebo said.

He also assured members that the ROMO leadership remained committed to their welfare and protection.

“Our union will continue to engage relevant authorities to ensure better working conditions and safety for all our members. Your wellbeing remains our top priority,” he said.

Sholebo encouraged all riders to be law-abiding, safety-conscious, and considerate to other road users, especially during this challenging weather period.
