The event held on Tuesday 11th of March 2025 at Conference Hall, National Assembly New Library Complex of the National Assembly was well attended by representatives of the Embassy of China, China Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CAC, NIPC, NEPC, NEPZA, NUPRC, PEBEX, Ease of Doing Business, OGFTZ, OPC, Ogun State Govt and the Nigerian chamber of commerce amongst others.
Ogun state Government, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Development Partners Coordination, Dr. Bayo Adenekan, a technical committee member has assured of the State's readiness to explore opportunities that will benefit both countries and the people of Ogun state in particular. As the industrial hub of Nigeria coupled with the 'push & pull mechanism from its neighbour Lagos State, a lot of deliberate efforts and investments made in the creation of free trade zone to leverage on the shared values and opportunities in the nation. Ogun state occupies a strategic position in the advancement of business relation and partnerships with China.
Ogun state have the deepest Sea Port in Nigeria and perhaps in the West Africa geo-location at Olokola and the current administration is leveraging on this with the creation of Olokola deep sea port which brings about an eco- system including deliberate infrastructure especially along the border zones, agriculture, manufacturing including export and import opportunities.
With the state of the art facilities in the newly built International Cargo Airport situated within the Aerotropolis, have one of the longest runways in the country, Ogun international cargo airport is an integral part around Iperu/Ilisan axis of the state.The aerotropolice is a legacy project of the current administration in Ogun state will open the state to the rest of the world including China, Europe etc to ease business and strengthen partnerships thus, leveraging the massive agricultural activities and food production in the state.
Over one thousand kilometres of roads have so far been constructed under the current administration in the state with attention focused on the roads that have economic significance and impact on the state:s productivity and increasing IGR.
Unveiling of the summit was the brain work of the Nigeria -China Business Relations Committee having its Chairman; Honourable Jafaaru Yakubu and other Committee members and the Consultant, Mr. Kunle Yussuf who spearheaded the program, was well attended by Federal House of Representatives standing committee Chairmen, various capitan of Industries, and The Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar OON, The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria His Excellency, Yu Dunhai, Director-General, Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership and Global Liaison , Dr. Joseph Tegbe, Director General, China General chamber of commerce, Dr. Tristan Cui, The Director General, Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, The Executive Secretary Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Aisha Rimi, SSA to the President on IT and Development, 50 CEOs/MDs of Chinese Companies.
