Speaking during an interview with News Channel on Friday, Faidat emphasized the urgent need to address challenges such as gender inequality, lack of access to quality education, child marriage, and inadequate healthcare, which hinder the growth and development of girls across Nigeria, particularly in rural areas.
She further highlighted that while progress has been made in promoting the rights of the girl child, more needs to be done to ensure that girls are empowered to reach their full potential.
According to her, “We must unite to break the barriers that prevent our girls from thriving. Education, mentorship, and advocacy are key tools in ensuring that girls have equal opportunities.”
The APC chairman also appealed to policymakers, community leaders, and parents to actively participate in creating an environment where girls can grow without fear of discrimination or violence, while also promoting initiatives that support education and entrepreneurship among young women.
