The 2024 Batch A Stream Two Cultural Carnival at the NYSC Ogun State Orientation Camp was a vibrant celebration of Nigeria's rich cultural tapestry. Sponsored by NOMBA Micro Finance Bank and MEGA THANDY LOUNGE, the event which held at the Parade Ground of the Sagamu Orientation Camp saw all 10 platoons showcasing various aspects of Nigerian culture, including dance, food, dress, and marriage customs.
This cultural extravaganza, an integral part of the Orientation Programme, aimed to expose Corps Members to the diversity within Nigeria, fostering unity and understanding among them.
State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu emphasized the importance of promoting each other's cultures for national unity, inspiring Corps Members to embrace the country's multicultural heritage.
Platoon 9, which beautifully presented the Lagos (eyo) culture, clinched the top spot, winning a prize of 100,000 naira. Platoon 5 which projected the Igba culture followed closely, securing the second position with a prize of 70,000 naira, while Platoon 1which showcased the Yoruba culture claimed the third spot, earning a prize of 50,000 naira.
Following the festivities, an after-party provided an opportunity for the camp community to unwind, further strengthening bonds among Corps Members.
Overall, the Cultural Carnival was a resounding success, celebrating diversity and fostering unity among Nigeria's future leaders.
