The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State, Hon. Olalekan Jiboku, has declared his unwavering support for the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
Jiboku described the senator as a leader with the capacity, experience, and vision needed to take Ogun State to greater heights.
Jiboku, in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday also threw his weight behind YAYI’s running mate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, describing the pair as a formidable team well-positioned to provide purposeful governance and drive sustainable development across the state.
He said the YAYI-Kudirat ticket represents hope for the people of Ogun who desire quality leadership and meaningful progress.
According to him, Senator Adeola has distinguished himself over the years as a tested and trusted public servant whose track record in governance and representation has earned him the confidence of many across Ogun State and beyond.
He noted that the senator’s achievements in public office have demonstrated competence, commitment, and a clear understanding of the developmental needs of the state.
Jiboku said Senator Adeola possesses the qualities of a transformational leader, stressing that his experience in public service and legislative engagements would be an added advantage in steering Ogun State toward accelerated growth.
“Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola possesses the leadership qualities, experience, and vision required to move Ogun State to greater heights. He is a tested leader, a proven performer, and indeed a governor in waiting,” he said.
He further expressed confidence in the ability of the YAYI-Kudirat team to deliver on the expectations of the people if elected in 2027.
The governor’s aide also called on party faithful, stakeholders, and the people of Ogun State to rally round the aspiration of Senator Adeola and his running mate in the interest of the state’s future.
He stressed the need for collective support and unity of purpose to ensure the emergence of a leadership that will prioritise the welfare of the people and deliver dividends of democracy to every part of the state.
He also disclosed that work is already ongoing to strengthen grassroots mobilization in Abeokuta South Local Government in support of the YAYI-Kudirat ambition.
According to him, political engagement and consultations at the grassroots remain critical to building the momentum needed ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Jiboku urged residents, particularly eligible voters, not to wait until the election period before taking action, but to ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to enable them participate in the democratic process.
“Mobilization is ongoing across the grassroots in Abeokuta South Local Government and beyond. I want to urge the electorate to go and get their PVCs so that they will be able to cast their votes when the time comes,” he said.
He added that his support for Senator Adeola and Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun is rooted in his belief that they possess the competence, courage and commitment to lead Ogun State into a brighter future.
He therefore called on party faithful, stakeholders and the people of Ogun State to rally behind the ticket, insisting that the 2027 governorship race presents a crucial opportunity to choose a leadership team that will prioritise the welfare of the people and deliver lasting development.
