A frontline aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Odogbolu State Constituency, Hajji Moshood Adetayo Abubakar, popularly known as Daytayo, on Wednesday met with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odogbolu Local Government, as part of efforts to garner support for his ambition.
During the visit, Daytayo interacted with key stakeholders, sharing his background and vision for a more inclusive, progressive, and people-oriented representation for the constituency.
He was warmly received by prominent party leaders in the local government, including Alhaji Fasasi Kalejaiye, Otunba Wesco Shonubi, Alhaji Idris Lawal, Hon. Oyinkasola Cole, Otunba Adesanya Bobadara, among others.
While addressing the gathering, the aspirant outlined his agenda, which he said would focus on grassroots empowerment, inclusive development, and effective legislative representation.
Daytayo revealed his commitment to serve with integrity, purpose, and measurable impact, noting that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to improve the lives of the people.
Daytayo was accompanied by notable political figures and supporters, including former Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government and Governor’s Liaison Officer, Hon. Shuaib Adebayo Ladejobi, the Councilor, representing Aiyepe/Eyinwa, Hon. Moshood Dauda, Alhaja Funke Soyooye, Ward 6 Leader, the Ward 6 Chairman, Adebanjo Owoyale amongst others.
While responding, a leading leader in the local government, Alhaji Fasasi Kalejaiye, commended Daytayo’s background, described him as a worthy son of the soil, expressing confidence in his capacity to represent the constituency effectively.
He said, "I have known him for his good upbringing and commitment. He is a fine young man with the potential to serve well. As leaders, we must continue to encourage and support credible aspirants for the progress of our constituency. "
"Other aspirants are also my children, while appealing to other leaders to support his ambition.
Also speaking, Otunba Wesco Shonubi praised Daytayo for his loyalty to the party and his support for Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, describing him as a committed and dependable party member.
He noted that Daytayo’s ability to mobilize all the ward executives and stakeholders, as well as the success of his recent Ramadan lecture, which attracted a large and influential audience, reflects his growing acceptance, leadership capacity and the kind of person he is.
Wesco, therefore, expressed confidence in him, praying that God would make the ambition easy for him.
