"My Mission Is to Give People the Representation They Deserve"- Ogun Assembly Aspirant

An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olalekan Jiboku, has declared that his decision to contest for a legislative seat is driven by the desire to ensure better representation and amplify the voices of the people at the grassroots.

Jiboku made this known while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Saturday ,stressing that many communities still lack adequate representation and access to basic amenities.

According to him, his ambition to serve in the Ogun State House of Assembly is rooted in the belief that governance should prioritize the welfare and development of the people rather than personal interests.

“I am running because my people deserve better representation and voices that need to be heard,” Jiboku said, emphasizing that leadership must reflect the true aspirations of the people at the grassroots.

He also noted that the provision of basic infrastructure and social services should be treated as fundamental rights of citizens rather than privileges available only to a few.

“I am running because I believe basic amenities should not be a luxury,” he added, pointing out that access to good roads, quality healthcare, education, and other social services remain critical to community development.

The assembly hopeful further stated that his leadership philosophy is anchored on service, accountability, and transparency in governance.

“Leadership is not a birthright but a privilege to be a servant to our people”,

He added that public office holders must always remain accountable to the electorate.

Jiboku explained that if elected, he would focus on policies and legislative initiatives that would directly improve the lives of his constituents and strengthen grassroots participation in governance.

He also pledged to work closely with community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the people are properly articulated and addressed through effective legislation.

The aspirant expressed confidence that with the support of the people, he would be able to bring purposeful representation and development-driven leadership to the people of Abeokuta South Constituency ll.
