The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde has received former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly candidate, Ejalonobu Taofik, and other party loyalists who have officially defected to the APC.
Speaking during the reception held at the party secretariat on Wednesday, the APC chairman expressed delight at the decision of the former PDP candidates to join the ruling party, describing the development as a boost to the party’s growing strength at the grassroots.
She explained that they had come collectively to join the APC in their ward, adding that the move marked a new chapter of unity and cooperation among political stakeholders at the ward level.
Alhaja Faidat assured the new members that they would be fully carried along in all party programmes and activities, stressing that the party believes in inclusiveness and teamwork.
She expressed optimism that with unity and collective effort, APC would continue to make progress in Abeokuta North Local Government, adding that, by God’s grace, the party would achieve greater victories ahead.
