The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has called on residents of the local government to embrace unity, hard work and renewed commitment to sustainable development as the year 2026 begins.
In his New Year message , the council boss congratulated individuals, families and the entire people of Obafemi Owode Local Government for witnessing the new year, while reflecting on the challenges and achievements of the outgoing year.
Ogunsola noted that the new year presents a fresh opportunity to consolidate on the successes recorded in the past year, while addressing existing challenges with renewed determination and collective responsibility.
He expressed optimism that 2026 would usher in prosperity, growth and abundant opportunities for development across the local government, urging residents to strengthen the bonds of unity, love and cooperation as the foundation for sustainable progress.
Addressing the youths, the chairman encouraged them to dream big, remain focused, work hard and believe in themselves, while warning against involvement in illicit activities that could hinder their future and the development of the society.
He also acknowledged the critical role of elders in community development, describing their wisdom, experience and guidance as invaluable to the peace and progress of Obafemi Owode Local Government.
Ogunsola further appealed to all residents to continue striving for a more united, peaceful and prosperous society, emphasizing that collective effort remains key to achieving the shared aspirations of the people.
The chairman prayed that the new year would bring joy, good health and the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people, expressing confidence that 2026 would be better and more rewarding for the local government.
He wished Obafemi Owode residents a happy and prosperous New Year 2026, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to continuity, good governance and people-oriented development.
