Ogun Arewa Business Group Endorses Tinubu for Second Term, Backs Abiodun for Ogun East Senate Seat

 In a major political declaration, the Arewa community in Ogun State has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 and called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to contest the Ogun East Senatorial seat.

The endorsements were announced on Sunday, November 30, 2025, during a press conference held at the Palace Event Centre, Ogere-Remo. 

The event was jointly hosted by the Arewa Business and Trade Association of Ogun State (ABTAOS) and the Arewa Community APC in Ogun (ACAGO).

In his welcome address, Alhaji Sanni Kure stated that the Arewa community in Ogun State is “united adding that they are committed 
to the peace, progress, and prosperity of Ogun State.

He described the gathering as a public reaffirmation of the community’s collective gratitude and unwavering confidence in President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun’s leadership style, which he commended for integrity and inclusivity.

Also speaking, Hon. Abdul Musa outlined key achievements under the “ISEYA” development agenda, including the construction of over 700 kilometres of roads, the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport, and the renovation of thousands of classrooms across the state.

Sheriff Alkasim Idris urged the Arewa community to continue showing appreciation to President Tinubu and Prince Dapo Abiodun for their exemplary leadership.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Arewa Community APC in Ogun State, Alhaji Shu’aib Kolawole Ghanga who is also an appointee of the governor publicly handed the governor what he described as the community’s “mandate to run.”

reinforced the appeal, urging the governor to heed the call and continue serving his people at the Senate.

He further commended the governor for the transformative infrastructure projects, especially the Agro-Cargo Airport.

Comrade Mahmud Alhassan Zamfara encouraged members to begin preparing for the elections by collecting their Permanent Voter Cards.

Special recognition was also given to Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf Dundare Gulma, Chairman of Arewa Community APC for Lagos State and Coordinator for the 17 Southern States. 

He expressed appreciation to President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun for “giving the Arewa community a sense of belonging.”

Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Jamiu Asimiyu, noted that the Arewa community was the first group in the state to endorse President Tinubu for 2027 and call for Governor Abiodun’s Senate bid. 

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to continued partnership, describing the Arewa community as “formidable, consistent, and trusted.”

The press conference was graced by dignitaries including the Asoju Oba of Ogere-Remo , market leaders, and Seriki Arewa chiefs from across Remo.
