The Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, has celebrated four exceptional educators from public primary schools within the local government area for their outstanding achievements at both the state and national levels.
The special recognition ceremony, held at the local government secretariat, was organized to appreciate the teachers and administrators whose commitment to excellence has brought honour to Abeokuta North, Ogun State, and Nigeria.
Among the honourees was Mr. James Olatunde Odubela, who emerged as the Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category). Also recognized was Mr. Taiwo Solanke, who not only won the Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category) but also made history as the Overall Best Teacher in Nigeria (Public Primary School Category) — a feat that drew a standing ovation from attendees.
Other awardees include Mrs. Alonge Bolanle, who emerged as the 2nd Best State Administrator (Public Primary School Category), and Mrs. Tijani Rahamot Bolanle, who was named the 3rd Best State Teacher (Public Primary School Category).
In his remarks, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo lauded the teachers and administrators for their dedication, professionalism, and lasting impact on pupils in Abeokuta North. He described teachers as the “true builders of the future generation” whose tireless contributions deserve recognition and reward.
“These outstanding teachers and administrators have demonstrated that commitment and passion can transform our educational system. Their achievements are not just personal milestones but collective victories for Abeokuta North and Ogun State"the Chairman said.
As part of his administration’s commitment to rewarding excellence, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo announced the allocation of a plot of land to each of the awardees.
He explained that the gesture was aimed at encouraging others in the education sector to strive for similar heights of excellence.
The local government boss also reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for programmes and policies that promote quality education, reward diligence, and inspire innovation among teachers and school administrators.
The event attracted education stakeholders, community leaders, and family members of the awardees, who commended Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo for his visionary leadership and recognition of educators’ contributions to nation-building.
