The meeting, which was presided over by the Chairman of Oke-Ogun Community, Prince Ifekayode Akinbode, had in attendance notable leaders, political stakeholders, and community representatives.
In his welcome address, Prince Akinbode urged residents of Oke-Ogun who have not registered for their voter’s card to take advantage of the ongoing exercise, while also encouraging members to mobilize others in their respective areas.
He stressed that the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) remains the most powerful tool for participation in governance and community development.
Prince Ifekayode commended all community leaders for their unwavering support towards the progress of the community and further called for unity of purpose to foster development and strengthen political relevance.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the recognition of the efforts of Hon. Dr. Tunde Tella, member representing Abeokuta North State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Leaders applauded Prince Tella giant strides in office, particularly the recent commissioning of borehole water projects across the local government, which have greatly improved access to potable water.
Hon. Tella, who was present at the meeting, also donated funds to support the mobilization efforts for the ongoing voter registration exercise, a gesture that was widely applauded by participants.
Other leaders in attendance included Hon. Ibikunle Bayowa, former Chairman of Abeokuta North LG, Hon. Erubami, Leader Abeokuta North Legislative Council, Hon. Toyin, Councillor Ward 13, Hon. Olabiyi Oluranti, Councillor Ward 14 Hon. Lukmon Adeogun, Councillor Ward 16 Mr. Kabiru Yusuf, Chairman Ward 13 Mr. Sunday Akindele, Chairman Ward 14 Arc.
