The ancient town of Owu-Akinale in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State will on Saturday, August 30, 2025, witness a historic moment as His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Oluseyi Ayodeji Adewole Adediran, would be officially installed and crowned as the Otileta I, Towulade of Owu-Akinale.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the chairman of the planning Committee, Aare Kazeem Bakinson
The colourful ceremony will take place at the Baptist Primary School, Owu-Akinale, at 10am .
The event will feature not only the coronation of the new monarch but also a series of landmark community development projects, including the turning of sod for the Akinale Mini Health Centre commissioning of a borehole water project, and the launch of an Education Trust Fund Project.
The Olowu of Owu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta VII, will serve as the Chief Host of the grand occasion.
Among the eminent dignitaries expected are:
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria, as Father of the Day, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, legendary juju music icon, who will thrill guests with soul-lifting performances, Aare Kazeem Bakinson, Aare Mayegun of Owu Kingdom, Kazeem Odeyeyiwa, FCA, FCIT, PNIM, FNIMN, CISA, MBA, Managing Director/CEO of Raptor Group Limited, who is the Special Guest of Honour, Barrister Daniel Aramide among others.
The coronation is expected to draw traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry, cultural enthusiasts, and indigenes of Owu Kingdom from home and abroad.
According to the planning committee, the installation of Oba Adediran as the Otileta I, Towulade of Owu-Akinale, marks “a new dawn of leadership, cultural renaissance, and development for the community.”
