Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 500 women in Ogun State with grinding machines, deep freezers, generators, and other equipment through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Sustainable Development Goals ,SDGs under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
The programme, held at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara, Abeokuta was designed to boost small-scale enterprises and strengthen household income by providing women with tools and resources to grow their businesses.
Addressing the gathering,the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, represented by Mrs. Taiwo Bello said the initiative was part of the President Tinubu's led administration drive to economically empower women across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Orelope -Adefulire explained that the empowerment was not only focusing on distributing items, but aimed at unlocking potential, foster economic independence, and create opportunities for women to thrive.
She added that the programme would strengthen women’s capacity to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to inclusive national development.
She reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering women as key drivers of sustainable growth.
The State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, applauded the First Lady,Senator Oluremi Tinubu for closing critical gap in women’s economic empowerment.
Abiodun stressed that the initiative was equipping grassroots women with practical tools to thrive .
In her remarks, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Adeleye commended the programme as a timely step in addressing barriers to women’s economic advancement.
She encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the items, describing the support as a stepping stone toward self-reliance and community development.
