The group described the gesture as timely and commendable, noting that it has enhanced security and improved night-time visibility in the affected communities.
The solar-powered street lights were installed in Totoro, Sokori, Akin Olugbade, Pepsi, Agbeloba, brewery and Olomore—neighbourhoods which are home to thousands of residents and businesses.
According to the Coordinator of Yayi Movement Owu Community, Chief Ismaeel Akindele said the project
has brought relief to both motorists and pedestrians who had long endured poorly lit streets and the accompanying risks.
Chief Akindele made the commendation during an interview with newsmen on Saturday.
He described Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as a leader with a heart for grassroots development and community upliftment.
“This project is not just about lights; it is about hope, safety, and progress for our people,” Chief Akindele said.
He further expressed gratitude on behalf of the residents, stating that the initiative has significantly improved security in the neighborhoods, especially at night.
“We now walk with confidence at night. Criminal elements who used to hide in the dark are now exposed, thanks to these solar lights,” he noted.
Chief Akindele called on other elected representatives to emulate Senator Adeola’s proactive leadership and respond to the urgent needs of their constituents.
“We believe in appreciating good work. This is why we are saying thank you to Senator Adeola,” Chief Akindele reiterated.
