Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, presented the NPFL trophy to the triumphant team before an elated home crowd. The victory, which brings Remo Stars to 71 points with one match remaining, caps off a dominant season and confirms their qualification for the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
Despite falling behind in the 15th minute, Remo Stars mounted an impressive comeback. Sikiru Alimi equalized in the 37th minute, Ibrahim Shuaib put the team ahead just before halftime, and birthday celebrant Babatunde Bello extended the lead in the 48th minute. Olamilekan Adedayo sealed the result with a fourth goal in the 67th minute.
Founded in 2004 by sports entrepreneur Kunle Soname, a proud indigene of Ogun State, Remo Stars’ rise from the lower divisions to national champions is a testament to vision, resilience, and investment in grassroots football. They are now the first Southwest club to lift the NPFL title since Julius Berger in 1991.
