OBAFEMI OWODE LG BOSS AMB. OGUNSOLA INAUGURATES COMMITTEES ON IGR, CHIEFTAINCY, LAND MATTERS

As a way of reviving the internally revenue generation of the council, with a view of settling  Chieftaincy issues without resulting to litigation, couples with a measure of  recovering Lands, belonging to local government, the Executive Chairman, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA has officially inaugurated Committees on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Chieftaincy and Land Matters in his office at Owode-Egba.

Council Boss in his remarks, charged members of the committees to look inward and bring up a new strategy that will be totally different from the other means of collecting rates and levy by the former revenue contractors.
He stressed that with the experience, expertise and professional approach of the committees, couples with the crop of Career officers, Baales, Iyaloja General and Technocrats in the committee, the revenue drive will surely be achievable without recourse to any chaos or rancour. 

He charged each committee to immediately swing into action, as the government can not afford to generate less revenue with a view of giving quality dividends of democracy to the people of Obafemi Owode local government across wards.
Similarly, Amb. Ogunsola said the purpose of having the likes of Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs. Ganiyat Ogunleye in the IGR Committee is to be able to enjoy the cooperation, support and commitment of other market men and women in the collection of Markets revenue, rates and levy. 

He however encouraged members to work together as team in actualizing the task before them, as Obafemi Owode Local Government remain the largest local government in the state.

In the same vein, council boss emphasized that, as we are looking forward to full implementation of Local Government Autonomy, we need to recognize our land, boundaries, as we know we share boundaries with 7 Local Governments includes, Shagamu, Remo North, Odeda, Abeokuta South, Ewekoro, Ikenne and Ifo respectively.
Earlier, Ms. Olufunke Adeniji, Head of Local Government Administration, stated that the main aim of inaugurating the committees is to form an inclusive governance where everyone will have an input towards building a team that will boost the revenue base of the local government with the intention of giving back to the people a robust, quality dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

While she enjoined all the members to work assiduously in achieving desire results.

Members of the IGR Committee includes;
Hon. Kayode Dipeolu, Hon. Taiwo Saula, Alfa Lateef Aderemi Balogun, Chief Mrs. Ganiyat Ogunleye, Mrs. Ademuyiwa Titilayo, Director Finance and Supply as Secretary, Mr. Sanu Micheal, Admin officer as Recorder.

Members of the Chieftaincy and Land Matters are;
Mr. Tunde Ayinde Saheed, Hon. Segun Bajela, Hon. Lekan Adejare, Chief Jamiu Kasumu Sonola, Chairman Baale in Council, Amb. Yinka Onadeko, Hon. Akeem Gbelekale, Mrs. Ogunyewo 'Kemi, Director General Services and Administration as Secretary, Mrs. Adeyemi Jumai, Director Community Development as Assistant Secretary 1, Engr. Oseni Yusuf, Director, Works and Housing as Assistant Secretary.
