The awards, signed by the monarch aimed to encourage excellence in sports and recognize outstanding performances.
The coach's board and the Golden Boot was donated by Nigeria's Atlanta ’96 Olympics winning coach Bonfrere Jo.
The Awards were presented to Sanyaolu Mujeeb of Golden Stars as the best scorer of the tournament and Joe Ahebi of Dominion Star Football Team as the best coach.
Coach Bonfrere Jo represented by Alex Okonkwo during the presentation praised the Olowu's efforts in promoting sports in the kingdom.
The golden boot award and coach's board are symbols of the kingdom's commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting sports as a tool for development.
The Olowu's initiative has been commended by stakeholders, who see it as a step in the right direction for the youth in the community.
In the same vein, the Akinlagun of Owu and the coordinator of the just concluded Oba Saka Matemilola under 15 Football Competition Chief Oluseyi Adediran on Saturday received a table tennis donation from Mr. Goriola Samuel Oluyemi, a son of the kingdom, in support of sports development in the community.
The donation was made at the Owu Club, where he praised Mr. Oluyemi for fulfilling his promise made during the Oba Matemilola Under 15 Football Competition.
Akinlagun said the kingdom has witnessed a surge in sports development initiatives, with various individuals and organizations making contributions.
"These include a snooker board donated by the Osi Iyalode Owu, Chief Mopelola Wulemot Adegbenro, and a million naira donated for long tennis courts by Chief Mrs. Oluseyi Aderinokun."
Chief Adediran added that the grand patron of the competition, Baagbimo Kolawole Ogunseye, presented three trophies for the next edition
He also announced plans for male and female football competitions in the next edition.
He said " the former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has also expressed interest in sponsoring a team in the next edition.
"The Olowu of Owu Kingdom has emphasized the importance of sports development, encouraging women and older individuals to engage in various sporting activities."
In his remarks, Mr Goriola Samuel stated that his donation was part of his support for sports development in the kingdom, urging others to contribute to the Olowu's laudable goal.
"Since the Olowu has come on the throne now, there's a renewed interest in sport and I felt that it's my own responsibility to corporate with him, join hands with him to ensure that his laudable goal of sport development in Owu Kingdom is supported and what have just done is just to contribute my little quota by donating a table tennis to the Owu Club as part of the sport development of Owu kingdom in the hope that it would spur some other people into action and it will equally encourage the younger ones that want to go into table tennis as a profession."
Prince Dr. Olanrewaju Kazeem Bakinson, the Aare Mayegun of Owu Kingdom, announced plans to construct long tennis courts.
"After the football competition, where now moving forward to make Owu Club , the ancestral club of Owu. It will be the first of it's kind .
"We want to build sport and with sport there would be longevity of the life of our people .
"We are now inviting members of the public to donate sport equipment to us . With time we will change the name of Owu Club to Owu Sport club so that our members all over the world can come there" he said.
Present at the table tennis donation were: the Alakoso of Owu Ogbe Surveyor Olajide Fashina, Aare Mayegun Chief Kazeem Bakinson, Chairmanship Aspirant Abeokuta North Local Government Aare Olumuyiwa Fajimi, Akinlagun of Owu kingdom Chief Oluseyi Adediran, Taiyese Owu Chief Opemolu, Agbaakin Surulere Chief Ismail Akindele, Asipa Apomu Chief Nurudeen oketokun, among others. They all received the table tennis on behalf of Olowu of Owu Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola who is grand patron of Owu Club.
