Olowu Team ,Balogun Team Set to Clash in Novelty Match To Kickstart Oba Matemilola Under 15 Football Competition

The pitch is set for an exciting encounter as Balogun of Owu Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's team and the Olowu of Owu  Oba Saka Matemilola's team prepare to face off in a 15-minute novelty match at the opening ceremony of the maiden edition of the Olowu of Owu-Abeokuta Under 15 Male Football Tournament. 

The tournament, which kicks off on June 2, 2024, at the Ogun State capital, will feature 14 teams competing for various prizes.
As part of the opening ceremony, the two teams, comprising chiefs and bona-fide sons of Owu kingdom, will showcase their football skills in a friendly match that promises to be a thrilling encounter. 

The novelty match is a unique opportunity for the teams to demonstrate their prowess and set the tone for the rest of the tournament.
The tournament, organized in partnership with Dutchman Bonfrere Joe, a former Super Eagles tactician, aims to discover and nurture young talents from the grassroots level.

 Scouts from Gateway United Football Club, a second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) side, will be present to identify talented players, while coaches from the State Sports Council will provide guidance and training to help develop the skills of the young players.
The Balogun team and Royal Majesty team are eager to make a strong impression in the novelty match and set the stage for an exciting tournament. With the presence of scouts and coaches from top football clubs and organizations, this tournament offers a unique opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and potentially launch their football careers.
