Towulade Calls for Stronger Owu-Awori Relationship, Commends Olota of Otta

The Towulade of Owu Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, has appealed to the people of Owu to strengthen the relationship between the Owu and Awori communities, saying such unity would promote a cordial relationship between traditional rulers and the people of Egba Land in general.

Oba Adediran made the appeal while speaking at the installation of Omoba Dr. Rotimi Olasode Martins as the Taiyese of Otta Land, Awori Kingdom, describing the occasion as an important step towards strengthening the bonds between the two communities.

The traditional ruler urged the people of Owu and Awori to embrace love, understanding and cooperation, stressing that there should be no room for unnecessary conflict among Yoruba communities.

“I am appealing to Owu people to cement the relationship so that we would have a good relationship between the Obas and the people of Egba Land in general,” he said.

Oba Adediran also expressed his appreciation to the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, for the role he played in the installation of the Jagunmolu of Owu as the Taiyese of Otta Land.

He congratulated Omoba Dr. Rotimi Olasode Martins on his installation as Taiyese of Otta Land, and expressed optimism that the new traditional title would further deepen the relationship between the Owu and Awori kingdoms.

Meanwhile, the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, appreciated former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, for their roles in promoting unity and strengthening the relationship between the Owu and Awori people.

Olota also commended former President Obasanjo for providing opportunities that have contributed to greater interaction and unity between the Owu and Awori communities, noting that such efforts should be sustained for the benefit of future generations.
