The installation was held on Saturday at Baptist Primary School, Owu Akinale, in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Chief Akindele becomes the first Amona-Oba of Akinale to be honoured with a chieftaincy title, marking a new chapter in the history of the traditional institution.
Speaking at the event , the Towulade of Owu-Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, described the new chief as a man of integrity, loyalty and exceptional commitment to the growth and development of Akinale and the Owu kingdom.
Oba Adediran said Chief Akindele had demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a deep sense of responsibility, noting that his elevation was a recognition of his contributions and dedication to the traditional institution and the community.
The monarch said “Chief Ismail Akindele is a man of integrity, loyalty and dedication. His commitment to the progress of Akinale and his support for the traditional institution are worthy of recognition. We are confident that he will continue to justify the confidence reposed in him in his new role.”
In a significant highlight of the ceremony, the Olowu of Owu, His Royal Majesty Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, presented the certificate of chieftaincy to Chief Ismail Akindele, formally recognising his elevation and adding royal dignity to the historic occasion.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Chief Akindele expressed appreciation to the Towulade and the Olowu of Owu for the honour, pledging to uphold the dignity of the title and contribute positively to the peace, unity and development of Akinale and the wider Owu kingdom.
