A Senior Agricultural Economist with the World Bank and former All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Dr. Adetunji Oredipe, has unveiled a fleet of campaign vehicles and other branded materials in support of the governorship ambition of Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
The campaign support materials, which include more than four vehicles, branded T-shirts, caps and other promotional items, were unveiled as part of efforts to increase the visibility of Adeola’s 2027 governorship campaign across the three senatorial districts of Ogun State.
Oredipe, who unveiled the materials while receiving Senator Adeola at a political gathering in the state, said the initiative was aimed at taking the senator’s campaign message to communities across Ogun Central, Ogun East and Ogun West.
He said the vehicles would be deployed for grassroots mobilisation and visibility, noting that the initiative was only the first phase of his support for the APC chieftain’s governorship ambition.
“In our modest way, we are donating more than four vehicles. In addition to the ones we have already branded, there are several others that have not yet been branded. Beyond my own contribution, many of my associates are also prepared to add more” he said.
According to him, the vehicles would help to create greater awareness for Adeola’s ambition as they move across the state.
“Through these vehicles, we want to increase his visibility across the state. As you travel through Ogun East, Ogun West and Ogun Central, you will see 'Auto for Yayi' everywhere. This is only the first phase. We will continue until we deliver Yayi as our governor”.
Oredipe also disclosed plans to produce and distribute additional campaign materials, including branded T-shirts and caps, as part of efforts to take the campaign to every corner of Ogun State.
“We will also produce branded T-shirts, branded caps and other campaign materials, as you can already see around you. We will do everything possible to take this message to every corner of Ogun State so that it translates into votes and, by the grace of God, brings Yayi to office on May 29, 2027”he said.
Beyond the provision of campaign materials, Oredipe formally declared his support for Adeola, saying he had decided to step aside from his own governorship ambition in the interest of supporting the senator.
“This is part of a process. As you are aware, our son, our family man—the man everyone is looking forward to becoming the next governor of Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Yayi—is here today. We are using this opportunity to receive him, show our support for his mission and agenda, and declare that we are fully behind him," Oredipe said.
He maintained that his support for Adeola was based on conviction, stressing that political backing should be demonstrated through concrete action rather than words alone.
“If you believe in a mission, you must invest in it. We are saying that we believe in what he is doing, and our support cannot be limited to words alone. We have to demonstrate it through action. In our own humble way, we are contributing to advance his cause and support his mission to govern our dear state. We believe in him, and by the grace of God, he will be sworn in on May 29, 2027”.
The APC stalwart also expressed confidence in Adeola’s chances in the 2027 election, saying the campaign support initiative would continue until the senator’s ambition was achieved.
“We believe in him, and by the grace of God, he will be sworn in on May 29, 2027,” he said.
