Jubilation as Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde Secures Second Term as APC Party Chairman in Abeokuta North

Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde has been re-elected as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North Local Government, securing a second term in office amid jubilation from party members and stakeholders.

In her acceptance speech shortly after her affirmation as the returned Chairman of APC in the local government held at Ori-Omi Abeokuta on Saturday.

Alhaja Faidat returned all glory to God for granting her the strength, grace, wisdom, and opportunity to serve again. 

She expressed deep gratitude to party leaders, delegates, and members for their trust and overwhelming support, describing her re-election as a collective victory for the entire APC family in Abeokuta North.

She specially appreciated respected party elders and stakeholders, including Engineer Adekunle Adeshina, Alhaji Barkai Okedara, Hon. Yemi Adelani, the Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun, the Ogun State Deputy Chief Whip,Hon. Babatunde Tella, the Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo, Hon. Seeni Ayorinde, delegates, electoral officials, and members of her hardworking local executive team for conducting what she described as a fair and transparent process.

According to her, the victory belongs to everyone in Abeokuta North and not to any individual. She called on party members to embrace unity and shun division, stressing that internal conflicts could weaken the party’s vision, while unity would strengthen its resolve and expand its achievements.

“In this second term, I promise to be a leader for everyone ,not for a group or a side, but for all,” she assured. 

She pledged to promote peace, encourage cooperation, listen more attentively to party members, and work even harder to ensure visible development across the local government.

Alhaja Faidat expressed optimism that, by the grace of God, her second tenure would usher in an era of peace, cooperation, and sustainable growth for the APC and the people of Abeokuta North Local Government.
