AMO Condemns Defection of Former PDP Leaders, Labels Them Political Opportunists Without Value

Ahmed Muiz Oladimeji (AMO), a frontline 2027 Ogun State House of Assembly aspirant for Abeokuta North Constituency, has strongly condemned the recent defection of former PDP chieftains in Ogun State to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as shameful, self-serving, and of no political consequence.

Among those who defected are former PDP State Chairman, Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele; 2023 Deputy Governorship Candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade; Ogunjimi Taofeek; and others.

AMO described the defectors as “a band of inconsistent, self-centered politicians whose actions have continually undermined the growth and unity of the PDP in Ogun State.”

He added, “These individuals are serial political betrayers, driven solely by personal interest and greed. Their defection is not a loss to the PDP—it is a necessary cleansing. In the 2023 general elections, none of them could deliver their wards, not to mention their local governments. They contributed nothing but confusion and disunity, ultimately working against the party’s collective interest.”

AMO emphasized that the PDP remains strong and focused, with true leaders and loyal members committed to reclaiming governance in 2027. He reaffirmed his full support for Hon. Ladi Adebutu, saying:

“Hon. Ladi Adebutu remains the most credible and prepared candidate to lead Ogun State. He has the vision, capacity, and grassroots support to take over from Governor Dapo Abiodun in 2027. We are undeterred by the exit of political liabilities masquerading as leaders.”

He concluded by calling on loyal PDP members across Ogun State to stay united and focused on rebuilding the party for victory in the next general election
