Ogun : Mac Job Old Students Association Launches Free School Uniform Initiative

The National President of Mac Job Old Students Association (MAGSOSA), Abiodun Babajide, has announced the launch of the Free Uniform Initiative, aimed at supporting indigent and brilliant students of Mac Job Grammar School in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

During the official flag-off of the initiative, Babajide appreciated members for their commitment to the project, particularly the 1967-71 set, who pledged additional donation of free uniforms. 

He described the distribution of free uniforms as an investment in the future of the alma mater, ensuring that financial hardship does not affect students' education.

The initiative will provide free uniforms to 100 students, with a focus on supporting 65% indigent students and 35% brilliant students. 

Babajide highlighted some of the projects executed by the association, including science laboratories, a sickbay, blocks of classrooms, a water project, and reconnection of the school to the national grid.
"Our commitment to science education led us to renovate the science labs, providing a conducive environment for practical learning. -Construction of a Sick Bay: We built a well-equipped sick bay to attend to the health needs of our students promptly and efficiently"

"Hiring Private Teachers: To address the shortage of teachers, we have hired private teachers to complement the existing staff, ensuring that our students receive quality education"

"These projects reflect our unwavering commitment to the holistic development of Macjob Grammar School and its students. By introducing the benefits of the Old Students Association to you, dear students, we hope to inspire you to strive for excellence and to give back to your alma mater in the future", he charged the students .

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, pledged the state government's commitment to encouraging such initiatives, complementing efforts to improve the quality of education. 
The commissioner, represented by Director of School Sports in ministry, Mr. Olarotimi Okeleye, lauded the association for numerous projects executed in the school.

The commissioner accompanied by other top officials of the old students association of the school, later performed official launching of the Free Uniform Initiative.

The State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola, who is a member of the 1987 set , assured the alma mater of continuous commitment of the association to provision of the needed physical infrastructure and other assistance to ensure the tradition of academic excellence in the school .
The event attracted past presidents of the association and prominent members, including Dr. Adewunmi Alayaki and Hon. Benjamin Ogunmodede. The State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola, assured the alma mater of continuous commitment to provision of physical infrastructure and other assistance.
