Elewide, who spoke while leading members of the CCM to the empowerment programme, said the initiative demonstrated Yomight’s commitment to improving the economic well-being of residents and providing them with the means to become more self-reliant.
According to him, empowerment programmes of this nature go beyond immediate financial assistance, as they provide beneficiaries with opportunities to build sustainable livelihoods and actively participate in the socio-economic development of their communities.
He noted that the initiative was also a demonstration of political preparedness, stressing that empowering the people was an important way of mobilising and equipping them ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The CCM chairman further reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Ogun State in the 2027 general elections.
He said the movement would continue to mobilise its structures and supporters across the state to ensure that the APC candidates receive the necessary grassroots support during the electioneering period.
Elewide described Yomight as one of the major pillars of support for the Central Coordinate Movement in Ogun State, praising his contributions to the growth and stability of the organisation.
He said the CCM team’s presence at the programme was not only to celebrate the empowerment initiative but also to demonstrate solidarity with Yomight and acknowledge his efforts toward supporting members of the community.
“We are here to identify with one of our own and to appreciate the good work being done by Yomight. He remains one of the pillars of support of the Central Coordinate Movement in Ogun State,” Elewide said.
He urged beneficiaries of the empowerment programme to make judicious use of the assistance provided, stressing that the ultimate objective should be to create sustainable economic opportunities and improve the living standards of families across Abeokuta South.
The CCM chairman also called on members and supporters of the movement to remain united, disciplined and committed to the organisation’s objectives as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
The event attracted political leaders, party faithful, community stakeholders and other important personalities, including the APC House of Assembly candidate for Abeokuta South Constituency II, Hon. Olumuyiwa Adeyemi, and the House of Representatives candidate for Abeokuta South Constituency I, Hon. Atobatele.
Their presence further underscored the political significance of the empowerment programme and the growing mobilisation within the Abeokuta South political space.
The CCM delegation led by Elewide also used the occasion to rally support for Yomight, describing his empowerment initiative as a worthy contribution to grassroots development.
The chairman maintained that the CCM would continue to encourage initiatives that directly touch the lives of ordinary people, particularly those capable of creating economic opportunities, strengthening community participation and fostering political inclusion.
He expressed confidence that with continued collaboration among stakeholders, grassroots mobilisation and people-oriented empowerment programmes, the APC would record strong support across Ogun State in the 2027 general elections.
The programme ended with renewed calls for unity among party stakeholders and continued support for initiatives designed to empower residents and strengthen grassroots political participation in Abeokuta South and beyond.
