Hon. Dr. Babatunde Tella, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta North State Constituency, has empowered over 350 constituents with various items to boost their economic activities.
The empowerment program, which took place at Ori Omi, Abeokuta North Local Government, had in attendance top politicians, including the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the House of Representatives member, Hon. Olumide Osoba.
The items distributed included grinding machines, sewing machines, coolers, minerals, knapsack spraying machines, herbicides, mathematics dictionaries, exercise books, solar lights, and cash empowerment across the wards.
Tella, who marked his one year in office with the empowerment program, said it was a fulfillment of his campaign promises to his constituents. He urged the beneficiaries to use the items wisely to create jobs and reduce poverty in their communities.
The lawmaker commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his efforts in reducing poverty through various empowerment programs. He also thanked his constituents for their support and promised to continue giving them quality representation.
Top politicians present at the event praised Tella for his kind gesture, describing him as a promise keeper and a man of integrity. Beneficiaries also showered blessings on him, saying he has prioritized their welfare and wellbeing.
The empowerment program is seen as a demonstration of Tella's commitment to his constituents and a testament to his dedication to their economic development.
Tella said " I want to appreciate all the leaders present starting from Hon. Adeshina for their support and love. I also want to thank my constituents for giving me the opportunity to serve them. This gesture was a demonstration of the love and kindness towards the people that voted me into office.
"Today i am empowering over 350 constituents with empowerment items. As you can see on the ground, we have grinding machines, sewing machines, fertilizers for the farmers, cash and many other things as to put smiles on our people's faces. This serves as pay back to them, they have supported us and show us love since i assumed office. This empowerment program is also to mark my one year in office as a lawmaker."
